How can I find someone’s UT contact information?
The Office of Academic Computing publishes a University directory called People Directory (formerly called the White Pages Directory). The People Directory is very useful for locating information regarding students, faculty and employees i.e. spelling of names, department names, inter-institutional addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.
What if the information listed in the UT People Directory/White Pages is incorrect?
STUDENTS
Student directory information is based on the information provided in UTLINK. Updates to directory information may be made on the UTLINK Web site at anytime. An address change form is also available online and at the Registrar and Student Affairs' Offices.
FACULTY AND STAFF
Faculty and staff must contact the person responsible for payroll or the SDR authorized submitter in their department and request that a modification to their Personal or Business information in PeopleSoft be made via the Web Personal Information (Web PA) template.
MEDICAL SCHOOL HOUSE STAFF
Medical School House Staff information is based on the information supplied in the Graduate Medical Education Information System (GMEIS). Updates to this information can be made by logging into GMEIS and correcting the information. Except for legal name changes, contact the Graduate Medical Education Office if the change involves a legal name change or if you are having problems updating your information.

What is a guest account and how is one set up?

Where do I get information about Digital ID’s?
All information regarding the acquisition and use of a digital ID can be found at the following link. http://www.uth.tmc.edu/netcenter/middleware/digital-id/index.html
Why do I get the message "Cannot open this item. Your digital ID name cannot be found by the underlying Security System" when opening an encrypted message?
It is possible that the sender is using your old/previously issued certificate. You should create a new digitally signed message and send it to the person who sent you the encrypted message. Instruct them to copy your certificate from this new message into their Contacts folder. They should then try to send you a new encrypted message. Don't resend the original encrypted message.
Can anyone read or respond to an encrypted message for me?
No. Others cannot read or respond to an encrypted message for you.
An encrypted message sent to an individual has that particular individual's public encryption key embedded in the message. This is an important feature of the security offered through encrypted mail.
The only person who can read the message is the intended recipient, since the private key associated with his/her Digital ID must “match” his/her public key embedded in the message. |
