Operations Team

OPERATIONS STAFF

 

The Data Processing Team supports the largest multi-platform Data Center on The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston campus. It is supported by many levels of support and offers a wide range of expertise.

Our goal is to provide our user community with a quality product and service. Some of the platforms and functions are listed below:

Functions:

The Data Center Operations team provide comprehensive financial reporting services, maintenance support and print solutions to The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston user community and surrounding Houston Metropolitan area clinics. We offer professional services for both computing and the associated networking equipment. The Data Center offers a full range of solutions to support the secure capture, production, presentation, retrieval and archival of critical business documents and information such as claims processing. It is our mission to continually enhance our customers business processes through effective management of their critical data and documents while providing an unparalleled focus on security and accuracy. Our goal is to continue to provide improvements in service level performance and flexibile solutions to the ever changing needs of our customers. This high level of professionalism is achieved through successful partnering within the user community.

 

IBM OS/390 Server

Supported Application: Student Information System (SIS) for the Dental Branch, Harris County Psychiatric Center, Medical School, School of Nursing, School of Health Information Sciences, School of Public Health and U.T.M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Operating System: OS/390
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston IBM 9672-R12 includes one processor (41 MIPS), 1 GB of memory, 21 Parallel and 12 ESCON channels, and about 295 GB of IBM 3390 disk storage. The 9672 has eight 3480 tape cartridge drives.

We have one logical partitions (LPAR) on this server - GOLD.

Printed output is available through Xerox, Infoprint and various other laser printers throughout the campus network.
